Project: Support for the CUNY Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology at City College
The Ph.D. program in clinical psychology at City College has been in the forefront of training minority psychologists and in efforts to apply psychological and psychoanalytic perspectives to addressing injustices in society. The FAR Fund will enable the program to provide Fellowships to students, provide clinical assistance and training to service programs in the Harlem community, create a Distinguished Lecture series, courses related to contemporary psychodynamic theory and practice, and Dissertation Fellowships. The City University of New York has agreed to assume funding responsibility for this program over a five year period.

Project: Chances for Children: Teen Parent-Infant Project
The mission of the Institute for Child, Adolescent & Family Studies is to establish, maintain, and operate an institute for specialized training in child, adolescent and family therapy and to develop programs which will address the mental health needs of various communities. Support from the FAR Fund will allow the Chances for Children: Teen Parent-Infant Project to continue. The program provides psycho-dynamically informed mental health services to teen parents who attend the NYC Public High Schools and whose babies are enrolled on-site in daycare centers run by the Board of Education under the Living for Young Families and Education (LYFE) program.

Project: Promoting Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the William Alanson White Institute
The William Alanson White Institute's primary mission is the training of psychiatrists and doctoral level psychologists and social workers in psychoanalysis. The FAR Fund grant will provide for a scholarship for psychoanalytic training, subsidized psychotherapy and a Distinguished Lecture series, all focusing on the Institute's child and adolescent program.
